About the Podcast

Nature, Wildlife and Countryside Living with Chris Skinner from High Ash Farm

Originally a Sony Music Award winning show on BBC Radio, The Countryside Hour became The Countryside Podcast after it lost its home during the BBC local radio reorganisation. Now after more than a year and 250,000 downloads being produced by a local company, the podcast has to start again. This is the new home for Chris Skinner's Countryside Podcasts.

Chris Skinner, a Norfolk farmer, takes a unique approach to farming, prioritising biodiversity and wildlife conservation in every practice.

Tune in every Sunday morning as Chris, alongside broadcaster Matthew Gudgin, explores topics on nature, wildlife, and rural life.

Join them for strolls through High Ash Farm and beyond, spotting wildlife and addressing your queries about the natural world.

Support the Podcast

We've been overwhelmed by the amazing feedback on our podcast, and with our current production setup coming to an end, we're determined to keep the show going on our own.

In Chris's 40 years of broadcasting about the countryside, neither the BBC nor the podcast has provided any payment. However, there are costs associated with recording, editing, and hosting the podcast.

If you enjoy our content, please consider donating to help secure the podcast's future. We want to produce shows regularly so a small monthly donation would be really helpful.

Should we exceed our costs, any surplus will be donated to the High Ash Farm conservation fund.

Chris won't be getting paid, but together we can support the birds, bees, and other wildlife in Norfolk!
